Yichen Pan is a interdisciplinary designer based in New York. Concerned with cultural value and sustainability, her areas of interest and practice include wearables, future textile, costume design, painting, calligraphy, installation, sculpture.

Beginning practicing Chinese calligraphy and wash painting at an early age shapes Yichen’s aesthetics. Deeply inspired by the beauty and internal wisdom of Chinese art and ideologies, her work presents a humble aesthetics.

The designer believes that each object possesses distinctive energy and emotion. By observing and feeling living objects, the designer follows her intuition to express her feelings and emotions.The designer uses unconventional materials, as well as post consumer waste materials, to reinterpret historical crafts, such as embroidery and silkscreen.
